LOS ANGELES – April 29, 2021 – Senmer — Social justice advocate Alex Gruenenfelder will announce his candidacy for the 2022 Los Angeles Mayoral election, via social media at 6:00 pm on Thursday, April 29, 2021, concurrently with the launch of his official campaign website, MayorAlex.com
As the first progressive candidate to formally announce his intention to run for the Mayor’s office in 2022, Alex Gruenenfelder strongly believes the City of Los Angeles deserves to be served by a bold, innovative leader with a passionate commitment to bring justice and equity to all Angelenos.
Los Angeles faces many difficult challenges: racial, social and economic inequities, an unprecedented homeless crisis, and navigation of the road to Covid-19 recovery. Born and raised in the City of Los Angeles, and currently an Echo Park resident, this is Alex Gruenenfelder’s first run for public office.
Gruenenfelder promises to address the needs of everyday Angelenos by curtailing corporate welfare, ending homelessness via Housing First policies, and by spending less money on police and more on social services that actually make us safer. He is committed to giving marginalized communities both a voice in the conversation and a seat at the table of policy-making.
Gruenenfelder believes the people of Los Angeles are ready to embrace a fresh, new approach, and humbly asks the people for the opportunity to serve them with a comprehensive strategy to advance the interests of all citizens by implementing sound, progressive strategies and governance.
