Transforming the Medical Infrastructure of a Country through provision of Medical Professionals and Medical Facilities
NEW YORK – Sept. 26, 2021 – Senmer — Monica Lindenhof builds medical facility (120-bed hospital that measures 300000 sq.feet. with administrative areas, operating and emergency rooms) in Afghanistan!
Afghanistan still has one of the highest maternal and child death rates on the planet, according to the World Health Organization.
Monica Lindenhof health project is aiming to change this fact with programs like Monica Lindenhof Medicine Afghanistan (MLMA), a three-year residency program to train local Afghan doctors and constructing of a modern healthcare facility in Afghanistan. These doctors are being trained to provide modern, clinical key care in a context where solid ethical values are modeled by Afghan and expat instructors.
In the entire country of Afghanistan, MLMA is the only Family Medicine Residency Program accredited by the Ministry of Public Health. This program is centered in a small private hospital serving a relatively inadequate of the city, and has 4 household medicine graduates training 7 male and one female Afghan doctors. These doctors are learning skills in medicine, surgical treatment, pediatric medicines, emergency situation, outpatient treatment and lots of various other areas which prepare them for service as leaders in the health care system of Afghanistan. We have strategies to broaden the curriculum to consist of faculty development and procedural educating. Volunteer doctors are needed to aid with instructing locals and faculty. The qualified Physicians will operate in the new medical facility.
The World Health Organization states that, “One trained family physician does the work of 3 medical specialists.”
